Whoa, it’s been a long while where a movie in general made me cry as much as I did watching Over the Moon.
I never thought I would love watching a film about a kid traveling to the moon in a makeshift rocket to meet a moon goddess but here I am.
I really enjoyed this so much, Glen Keane did a really good job on this for it being the first animated film he’s directed. Felt a lot of Disney movie vibes from the renaissance era.
The voice cast was great, extra kudos to Phillipa Soo as Chang’e the moon goddess and Cathy Ang who voices the main character Fei Fei, they knocked it out of the ball park.
The animation? I mean what else can I say other than it’s really spectacular. Pearl studio definitely needs to make more to show off that magic they have up their sleeves.
What surprised me the most was how many songs were in here. I watched this twice in a row and I’m seriously continuing to hum at least 3 of them throughout the day.
I’d strongly recommend this film if your a fan of animation and just want to have a great time.
